My thirty five years of horse experience coupled with my four year degree in Intuitive Counseling and Animal communication training has helped me to develop a unique way of training and relating to horses. I work as a bridge between the horse and owner, helping to develop understanding, communication and healing between the two. My experience and schooling has helped me broaden my training methods making it more than a behavioral management system. I have found that many training problems stem from treating all horses the same and without respect. Each horse is an individual, born with its own unique essence and personality which can be evaluated at a very young age. Much of my work involves using my intuition to pick up and interpret this energetic information and using it for determining the best mode of learning for the horse. My new training method can help reclaim aspects and potentials of the horse that have been lost through harsh programming causing behavioral and performance problems. I train by keeping my focus on the needs of the horse. I look at issues from the horse’s perspective, through empathy. This changes the dynamics of the energy from dominance and overpowering to friendship and respect. I have seen many animals heal their issues just by acknowledging what they feel. Amazing things happen when we hold a strong presence, open up, listen and relinquish judgment. Not only does the personality of the horse have to be evaluated but that of the owner and how the two of you interact on a deeper level. Horses are wonderful mirrors for our own personal growth, teaching us who we are what is needed for wholeness. Sometimes we attract conflict in our horse relationships and I look at this as a great opportunity for growth and develop. I teach people not only how to have a better relationship with their horse but with themselves. To me horses represent balance. They teach us to balance our head with our heart.
